The
3 day techno-cultural spectacle of MVJ College of engineering, Vertechx 4.0 /
Swayam-2013, kickstarted with an inaugural function held at 9am on 25th
April,2013. The inaugural program started off on an auspicious note with the
students doing the invocation dance after which the trailer tailored by the
students was featured, followed by the lighting of the lamp by our chief guest
for the day Shri. Avinash, a very renowned film artist in
the south Indian film industry, the guest of honour Padmashri Shri. Girish
Kasarvalli, one of the leading and innovative directors in the Kannada film industry along with our
principal Dr. K S Badarinarayan. A brief introduction about the dignitaries was
given through an audio visual.
Shri. Avinash gave a very crisp yet inspiring
talk about how to pursue our dreams. The crowd was elated as he bonded with
them through the regional language. This was succeeded by the principal’s
speech and the vote of thanks.
The
theme for this year’s fest being “My Country, My Way!!” aimed to bring out the
various ideas of the students regarding the current affairs in our country.
In
accordance with the theme, the national award winning film starring
Shri.Avinash, directed by Padmashri Shri. Girish Kasarvalli “DWEEPA” was
screened, which was thought provoking and appreciated by all.
As
an incentive to this there was an interactive discussion with the audience. After
this the very much awaited technical events commenced where the young and
spirited students enthusiastically unleashed their talents and eagerly await
the cultural events of swayam 2013 scheduled on 26th and 27th
April,2013.
